Since 2012, Aventura de Construir (AdC) has been working relentlessly to awaken people’s protagonism, and has been assertively assisting its own beneficiaries.
Our perspective develops through daily contact with the micro-entrepreneurs we assist: we seek to go deep into the issues that beset people and we believe that, by understanding their context we can turn this experience into content for our audience. Via dialogue and interaction with the different circumstances found, we were able to assess that this is a solid path to foster development and to face the current “change of times” in which we find ourselves.
Since its inception, Aventura de Construir has reached more than 5,000 low-income entrepreneurs in the outskirts of São Paulo. Throughout its journey, AdC has managed to unite as “concentric circles”, friends, professionals, volunteers and people with high personal and professional values, who have seen the relevance of our work and our methodology that bears fruits and needs to be continued.
We realized that everyone who had contact with AdC’s world was somehow impacted.
Our training offers are unique, customized, free and tailored to the needs of the beneficiaries and the current market. In 2017,, we covered topics ranging from finance and savings to technological innovation, including the education challenges and the creative economy. Our trainings encourages engagement, interaction among members, and establishing personal and professional networks in an environment that fosters the development of critical thinking and the broadening of thought horizons.
Due to the eagerness to generate impactful results and tangible and quantifiable changes in people’s lives:, in 2015, we created the Institutional Impact Indicators System, which was fine- tuned this year through a pro-bono consultancy work conducted by North American professionals. The Institutional Impact Indicators System is a rarely used framework in the Third Sector, showing our commitment to transparency, focusing on truth and excellence.
Via the ability of building bridges at a time of difficult socio-economic circumstances:, AdC opened new opportunities and enabled a dialogue between different worlds by providing lectures by renowned professionals for micro-entrepreneurs in the outskirts of São Paulo.
And always putting people at the centre of our work, assisting them so that they become protagonists of their own lives. “A methodology that makes our beneficiaries’ eyes sparkle”, said an AdC volunteer.
Whatever the reason, the most important thing is the road travelled, as there are always lessons to be learnt from it.
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”, says an African proverb.
To keep walking, we need to connect to others.
We wish everyone who has been following our work a merry Christmas and that, in 2018, there will be new chances to awaken the sense of contribution
